KERALA

Kerala is on the southernmost tip of India. A long shoreline with serene beaches. Tranquil streches of emerald backwaters. Lush hill stations and exotic wildlife. Waterfalls. Quite a lot of rivers and countless rivulets flowing through hills and paddy fields of the midland, emptying themselves into the backwaters. And the far off dark blue mountains. This is what the eyes meet about Kerala. An excellent colour scheme and art work of Nature.An occasional boatsman rowing and singing with cargo or people. A tiller or a mower and women planting seedlings. Women at work spinning coir. Dense plantations further eastward.

Day 01 : Scandinavia - Mumbai  ( Bombay)

Arrive in Mumbai late night , meet and greet at the airport & warm welcome with the flower garlands followed by transfer to hotel . Overnight at Hotel

 

Day 02 : Mumbai

Morning: Visit the 19th century Jain Temple with its silver doors, the Kamala Nehru Park and the Ferozshah Mehta Gardens known as the Hanging Gardens of Bombay and the Towers of Silence where the Parsis dispose their dead. Visit Mani Bhavan where Mahatma Gandhi spent 17 years of his life working for the freedom of India. The Prince of Wales Museum has an excellent collection of miniatures (closed on Mondays).

Day 03 : Mumbai - Cochin - Periyar  

Morning transfer to the airport to connect flight to Cochin( 0840 hrs / 1025 hrs) Upon arrival, meet & drive to Periyar (190 kms) Upon arrival at Periyar - check into hotel Periyar - Sprawling across 777 sq. kms. of the Cardamom Hills of the Western Ghats, Thekkady is the home to one of the largest wildlife reserves in India. Alive with exotic flora and vibrant wildlife, it is the perfect getaway tucked away among hills. Rest of the day at leisure . Overnight at Hotel   

 

Day 04 : Periyar

Morning 3/4 hours guided walk in the Forest with Forest guide , afternoon enjoy a boat safari in Lake Periyar in the National Park, known for herds of wild elephant, bison, deer and spectacular bird life. Overnight at Hotel

 

Day 05 : Periyar - Kumarakom - House Boat- Alleppey

Morning after breakfast drive to Kumarakom enroute visit tea plantation & tea factory . Noon check-in Houseboat( Kettuvalom ) & ride  in the direction to Alleppey . overnight on board

Day 06 : Houseboat - Alleppey - Cochin  

Explore rural life in the Backwaters . Later disembark at Alleppey and drive to Cochin, evening watch Kathakali Dance performance . overnight at Hotel

 

Day 07 : Cochin
Visit of the historic city of Fort Cochin - ancient capital of the Dutch, Portuguese and finally the British. A walking tour of Fort Cochin. Visit will include the old Spice Market at Mattancherry, the antique shop on Jews street, The Synagogue, Dutch Palace and the Church of St. Francis where the mortal remains of Vasco Da Gama was buried before it was shifted to Portugal. Rest of the day at leisure . Overnight at Hotel   

 

Day 08 : Cochin - Kovalam

Morning drive to Kovalam , on arrival check in at hotel . Rest of the day at leisure on beach . Overnight

 

Day 09 -13  : Kovalam

Full day at leisure on beach optional Ayurveda ( wellness ) and rejuvenation program . Overnight

 

 

Day 14 : Kovalam - Trivandrum - Mumbai

Morning free , afternoon transfer to airport to connect flight to Mumbai , on arrival checkin at hotel. Overnight at hotel.

 

Day 15 : Leave Mumbai  

Early Morning fly for your onward destination .
